Our Practice
At Wincanton Dental Practice we believe we offer an excellent standard of dental care.  We are committed to providing the highest possible standard of care for our patients. An important part of fulfilling this commitment is ensuring that we work in partnership with you. This helps us understand you and tend to your specific needs.
We wish you to be comfortable in our air-conditioned reception areas and so have ranges of up to date magazines as well as a selection of children’s toys.
Chilled spring water and complimentary hot beverages available in our waiting room.
Our downstairs premises and surgeries are accessible to wheelchair users and there is  now also a disabled toilet. Home visits for patients who cannot travel to the practice may also be available for a fee. Please ask for details.

Care at the practice
We provide dental care for adults privately and exempt category patients under the NHS.  Children will be seen providing that at least one adult regularly attends. We are one of the selected South Somerset Training Practices and therefore, Our Vocational Dental Practitioner (who is newly qualified) & who changes each year at the beginning of August treats existing patients under the NHS and is, only very rarely able to accept new patients.

Proof of NHS exemption must be shown before any treatment is commenced, otherwise it will be charged privately.  If your circumstances change please keep us informed.
Private patients may join the Practice Dental Plan to spread the cost of their care. Full written details of our private fee scale and the Practice Dental Plan are available from reception.

Dental care and treatment at the practice
We offer a full range of both preventive and cosmetic dentistry. We also fully explain the treatment options and oral hygiene procedures that are necessary. Many patients are nervous about visiting a dentist and in some cases, for very anxious patients, sedation can be provided.

Helping our young patients start a good oral health routine in order to care for their teeth and gums is very important to us, Our dentists, hygienists and other team members are happy to explain how best to do this and offer advice for all the family on good dental care.

Under 16’s must be accompanied by their parent/Guardian.  If this is not the case, unless written Consent is obtained, from either, or unfortunately for medico-legal reasons; we will not be able to see them. 

Communication
Good communication with our patients is very important to us and we take time to explain proposed treatment, any risks associated with it, as well as available alternatives. There will always be time to ask questions about the treatment or any other aspect of care at the practice. As a patient of the practice you will receive regular SMS recalls at agreed intervals. If you would like information on anything - please ask!

Refund Policy
We want you to be entirely satisfied with your care and treatment. If a filling, root filling, crown or bridge fails within a year we will provide free repair or replacement or a full or part refund, depending on the circumstances.


Complaints
If you are not satisfied with the care or service provided at the practice please ask to speak in the first instance to Natasha Buckley, who will deal with the complaint according to the practice’s complaints policy.  We operate a Zero Tolerance Policy for abuse of any kind to any of our staff members.
